Beaching Gear Builds
Lift and move your floatplane the easiest way. Seaplane beaching gear dollies are the best way to move your seaplane from water to hangar.
Trailer type or vehicle driven, I’ll build you a lift frame and mechanisms specific to your aircraft needs. From simple mechanical jacks to advanced hydraulics, anything is possible.
The blue dolly pictured below I built specifically for EDO 2000 floats. The lifting mechanism is a 2000 pound floor jack on a track. Simple, cost efficient and effective. An entry level towed dolly like this starts at $14000. There are several upgrades over the blue prototype pictured.
In the video below you can see my drivable 1/2 truck style dolly. This is my blueprint for any future builds. I have priced out several builds and these go from approx $30000 to upwards of $100000 Canadian to build from scratch depending on the various mods and options. A large portion of the costs are steel, hydraulics and suitable truck. Due to various ramp slopes, if you want to haul out a Cessna 206 up to an Otter, you likely want a V8. If you are hauling out Cessna 185 and down, a 6 or even a 4 Cylinder will do. Minimum requirements 4x4, automatic, single cab, maximum 20 years old.
Prices plus taxes and shipping, any dolly I build comes with a 1 year guarantee.
